1. Who we are
Visionaries by Reena Rawal (“Visionaries”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates this website and provides Science and Chemistry academic mentorship programmes for students of CBSE, ICSE, Cambridge (IGCSE / Lower Secondary) and IB MYP curricula. Visionaries is based in India.
For the purposes of the DPDP Act, 2023, Visionaries acts as a Data Fiduciary in respect of personal data collected through this website and our admissions process.
2. Information we collect
We collect only the information necessary to respond to enquiries, provide our programmes, and comply with law:
- Enquiry & consultation data: parent name, student name, email address, mobile number, grade, curriculum, school, subject of interest, and any message you send us through the “Book a Parent Consultation” form.
- Academic context (voluntary): current academic performance, learning concerns, or prior tuition history you choose to share during a consultation.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages visited, and interaction data, collected through standard server logs and basic analytics.
- Communications: emails, WhatsApp messages, phone call notes and any correspondence you send to us.
We do not knowingly collect financial account details on this website. Programme investment discussions are conducted separately after consultation.
3. Children’s data
Our programmes are designed for school students, most of whom are minors under Indian law. We collect information about a student only from the parent or lawful guardian. By submitting a student’s details, you confirm that you are the parent or lawful guardian and that you consent, on the child’s behalf, to the processing described in this policy. We do not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring, or targeted advertising directed at children, as required by Section 9 of the DPDP Act.
4. Purposes and lawful basis
We process personal data for the following specified purposes:
- To respond to enquiries and schedule academic consultations.
- To assess academic fit and recommend an appropriate programme pathway.
- To administer enrolled programmes, share study material, and communicate academic progress with parents.
- To maintain internal academic records, testimonials and result archives (with consent, where identifiable).
- To comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests from authorities, and defend legal claims.
- To improve our website, curriculum and services through aggregated, non-identifying analytics.
The lawful basis for processing is your consent, given when you submit a form or engage with us, and — where applicable — the “legitimate uses” recognised under Section 7 of the DPDP Act (e.g. responding to a communication you initiated).
5. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal data. We share personal data only with:
- Vetted service providers (Data Processors) who host our website, database, email and communication infrastructure, bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Professional advisors (legal, accounting) under duties of confidentiality.
- Government, regulatory or judicial authorities, where disclosure is required by Indian law.
Testimonials, student names, school names, board results and photographs are published on the website only where the parent or lawful guardian has provided prior consent for such publication.
6. Cross-border transfer
Certain of our processors operate infrastructure outside India. Where personal data is transferred outside India, we do so only to jurisdictions not restricted by the Central Government under Section 16 of the DPDP Act, and under contractual safeguards.
7. Retention
Enquiry data is retained for as long as needed to respond to your request and, thereafter, for a reasonable period to demonstrate compliance and defend potential claims — typically not exceeding three years from last contact. Academic and admissions records of enrolled students are retained for the duration of the programme and for a further period as required by applicable law and legitimate record-keeping needs. On expiry of the retention period, personal data is erased or anonymised.
8. Security
We follow reasonable security practices and procedures as prescribed under Rule 8 of the SPDI Rules, 2011, including access controls, encryption of data in transit, role-based administrative access, secure hosting infrastructure, and regular review of security posture. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected individuals of any personal data breach in the manner required by law.
9. Your rights
Subject to the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of your personal data being processed by us.
- Correct, complete, update or erase your personal data.
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
- Withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal).
- Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer named below, and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at the address in Section 12 with sufficient information to verify your identity.
10. Cookies and analytics
We use a minimal set of first-party cookies and basic analytics to understand aggregate usage of the website and improve its performance. We do not deploy third-party advertising trackers or profile-based advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect certain features of the site.
